By accessing this website you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions you may not use or access this website. The giftbureau.harrods.comwebsite is provided solely for your personal use. You may not use this website for any commercial purpose.
“Charity Gift” means a contribution to a charity nominated by the List Holder(s) as detailed in clause 3.5.
"Gift(s)" means one or more of the products, services or contributions chosen by the List Holder(s) and/or as specified on the Gift List, including any substitutions nominated by the List Holder(s).
“Gift Bureau Service” means the facilitation of the Gift List service to List Holder(s) and Guests to which these Terms and Conditions apply.
“Gift Cards” means Harrods store credit applied by way of credit onto the List Holder(s) Harrods Rewards card as a ‘current cash balance’ amount. Please note the terms and conditions applicable to redemption of such Harrods Rewards current cash balance are available at harrods.com/rewards.
"Gift List" means the list of Gifts compiled by the List Holder(s) in respect of the Occasion.
"Guest" means the person purchasing a Gift from the Gift List.
"List Holder(s)" means the client(s) the subject of the Occasion that registered for the Gift Bureau Service.
“Occasion” means the occasion, celebration or wedding in relation to which the List Holder(s) has registered for the Gift List or The Gift Bureau Service.
"Product(s)" means an item displayed for sale on a Gift List.
"Terms and Conditions" means these terms and conditions.
“Travel Gift” means a contribution to travel services nominated by the List Holder(s) as detailed in clause 3.4.
"United Kingdom" means England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and The Channel Islands.
"We", "Us", "Harrods" and “The Gift Bureau” means Harrods Limited (company number 30209), registered office 87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL.
"You" means a user of this Website including, but not limited to, a Guest or List Holder.
Gift List Service
The Gift Bureau Service is a service run by The Gift Bureau at Harrods for weddings & other occasions. List Holders can register and compile Gift Lists with The Gift Bureau at the Harrods Knightsbridge store and Harrods undertakes to administer the Gift List on behalf of the List Holders. This Website allows Guests to purchase Products for Occasions from Gift Lists. Guests can also purchase Products from a Gift List at The Gift Bureau at the Harrods Knightsbridge store.
You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions when making a purchase from a Gift List.
1.1 Care has been taken to ensure that the description and specification of each Product is accurate. However, any photographic images are for illustrative purposes only and do not represent the actual Product. Before you place an order you should read these Terms and Conditions carefully as they contain important information about your order.
1.2 By submitting an order to purchase a Product through the Website, you represent and warrant that:
- You have the requisite legal capacity to provide the information and/or enter into the transactions contemplated by this Website;
- The personal information that you have provided in order to use the Website is true and accurate (and you agree to notify us immediately of any changes to such personal information);
- The payment details provided on your order are valid and correct, and that when your order is accepted and processed by us, payment will be made in full. By placing an order you confirm that you are the person referred to in the Billing details; and
- You will not impersonate any other person or entity or use a false name or a name you are not authorised or legally entitled to use.
2. Acceptance of your Order
2.1 You can place an order for a Product either online at this Website, by telephone, by contacting The Gift Bureau: +44 (0)20 7225 6500 or in person at The Gift Bureau at Harrods Knightsbridge store.
2.2 Non-acceptance of an order may be a result of one of the following:
- The products you ordered not being available;
- Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment;
- The identification of a pricing or product description error; or
- Failure to meet the eligibility to order criteria set out in the Terms and Conditions.
2.3.1 Acceptance of an order placed by you on this Website and the completion of the contract between you and Harrods will take place when your order is processed and you have received a confirmation email/correspondence, unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions below. If there are any problems with your order, you will be contacted by Harrods.
2.4 Telephone and in-store at Harrods Knightsbridge
2.4.1 A member of The Gift Bureau team will be delighted to help you place an order by telephone or in person at Harrods Knightsbridge store, advise you on the range of merchandise available on a particular Gift List and help you with queries about payment.
2.4.2 The Gift Bureau team are available during store hours (please refer to www.harrods.com for details). Please contact us by:
Visiting us in-store at The Gift Bureau at Harrods - Second Floor, Harrods, 87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL, or
Calling us on +44 (0)20 7225 6500 during store hours – Please note this is a local rate number in the UK only and will cost the same as if you were contacting the Harrods store from your place of residence.
2.4.3 Where you place an order by telephone, you will be given a Gift List order reference number as an acknowledgement of your order. Your order is not accepted at this stage. We accept your order for an item ordered by telephone at the time when your order is processed, unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions below. If there are any problems with your order, you will be contacted by Harrods.
2.4.4 Telephone calls may be recorded for security and service monitoring purposes.
3. Order Cancellation
3.1 Requests to cancel or amend an order for Products are subject to the terms and conditions in this clause 3 and will be accepted up to the date the Gift List is closed. If you wish to amend or cancel your order placed online or by telephone, please contact The Gift Bureau by:
Calling +44 (0)20 7225 6500 (UK local rate number for BT users only) during store hours (please refer to www.harrods.com for opening times);
Forwarding your order acknowledgement email to us at the firstname.lastname@example.org confirming your request to amend or cancel the order; or

3.2 If you elect to purchase and deliver any Product from the Gift List in person and/or purchase any other goods or services not specified on the Gift List from Harrods at your discretion, please be advised that Harrods Returns Policy applies to such items and services. Details of Harrods Returns Policy are available in-store at Harrods in respect of purchases made in-store and online at www.harrods.com in respect of online purchases. Items which cannot be returned include:
personalised items or goods which have been made to a customer's specification;
perishable goods, including food and certain hampers; and
beauty products or fragrances and other personal products including lingerie, swimwear and mattresses, divans (where they come as part of a set with a mattress), duvets, mattress toppers/protectors or pillows.
None of the above terms affect your statutory rights.
3.3 If you purchase your Gift online or by phone, you are entitled to cancel your order if you notify us in writing no later than 14 working days after the day the List Holder(s) receives the Gift. This right to cancel does not apply to the items specified in clause 3.2 and to Travel Gifts, Charity Gifts and Gift Cards. If you exercise your right to cancel after your Gift has been despatched, the List Holder(s) must return the Gift to us and must have taken reasonable care of the Gift. We will not be responsible if the List Holder(s) do not wish to return the Gift. Subject to this clause 3.3, our liability to you is discharged once the Gift (including any substituted Gift) is despatched to the List Holder(s).
Please note that if the List Holder(s) has elected to substitute your Gift for Travel Gifts, Charity Gifts and/or Gift Cards in accordance with clause 7, you shall have no right to cancel your Order.
3.4 Travel Gifts
The holiday products and/or services the subject of Travel Gifts are selected at the sole discretion of the List Holder(s).
When you make a contribution to a Travel Gift, the money contributed will be held on trust for the List Holder(s) until closure of the Gift List or notification by the List Holders (whichever is earlier), upon which it will be provided to the List Holder by way of Harrods store credit loaded onto the List Holder(s) Harrods Rewards card as a ‘current cash balance’ amount which may be redeemed by the List Holder(s) for travel and/ or other goods or services at Harrods. Please note the terms and conditions applicable to redemption of such Harrods Rewards current cash balance are available at harrods.com/rewards.
3.5 Charity Gifts
The charity beneficiaries of Charity Gift(s) are selected at the sole discretion of the List Holder(s).
When you make a contribution to a Charity Gift, the money contributed will be held on trust for the nominated charity until closure of the Gift List upon which it will be paid directly to the charity specified in the Charity Gift. The charity that will benefit from your donation will be at the sole discretion of the List Holder(s) and Harrods may not have any association or connection with the nominated charity.
Should you require any advice regarding accounting, taxation or financial consequences of purchasing a Charity Gift from the Gift List and/or making a contribution to a charity we strongly recommend you consult a specialist adviser(s). We are not an accounting, taxation or financial adviser, and you should not rely on information provided on the Website to determine the accounting, tax or financial consequences of purchasing a Charity Gift or making a contribution to charity.
3.6 Gift Cards
When you purchase a Gift Card as a Gift (or the List Holder(s) substitute your Gift for a Gift Card in accordance with clause 7), the money contributed will be held on trust for the List Holder(s) until closure of the Gift List or notification by the List Holders (whichever is earlier). At such time, the Gift Card amount will be provided to the List Holder(s) by way of Harrods store credit loaded onto the List Holder(s) Harrods Rewards card as a ‘current cash balance’ amount. Please note the terms and conditions applicable to redemption of such Harrods Rewards current cash balance are available at harrods.com/rewards.
4. Payment Methods
4.1 We only accept payment for orders in £ sterling.
4.2 We accept payment by American Express, Maestro, MasterCard Debit and Credit, Visa Debit and Credit.
4.3 If you choose to pay for an item using a payment card with a foreign currency denominated account, the payment will nevertheless be completed in pound sterling at the conversion rate applied by the relevant payment scheme at the time of processing your order.
4.5 Unless we are fraudulent or negligent we will not be liable to you for any losses caused as a result of unauthorised access to the personal and transactional information you provide us when placing an order.
4.6 Please note that The Website does not accept Harrods gift cards, Harrods Rewards current cash balances, cash or cheques. Should you wish to pay for a Gift by way of bank transfer, cash or cheque, please contact The Gift Bureau.
5. Pricing Policy
5.1 All prices shown on the Website are in pound sterling and are inclusive of VAT, where applicable. Prices may change at any time including before, during and/or after the Occasion date and/or Gift List closure.
5.2 Although we try to ensure all the prices displayed on the Website are accurate, errors may sometimes occur. If we discover an error in the price of an item you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible. You will have the option to reconfirm your order at the correct price or cancel it. If we are unable to contact you, we may treat your order in respect of the incorrectly priced item as cancelled.
The Gift Bureau does not participate in the Harrods sales or Harrods Rewards events, or provide any special offers, promotions or discounts. Any purchases made on this Website or through The Gift Bureau Service will be charged at the prices displayed on the Gift List and the prices available in-store at Harrods and/or online at www.harrods.com (including any discounts, promotions and/or offers) shall not apply.
6. Product Availability / Information
We only feature products on the Gift List that have been carefully selected by the List Holder(s) and/or their nominated representative(s). When an item is sold out, it will be taken off the Gift List at the earliest opportunity. If the Gift(s) you order are unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute it with another Gift of equivalent value or a Gift Card to the value of your Gift.
7. Exchange of Gifts by List Holder(s)
List Holder(s) may, at their absolute discretion, choose to substitute Gifts with another product or service available at Harrods, or Gift Cards of equivalent value to the price paid for the Gift(s) by the respective Guest(s). We cannot be held responsible for such circumstances and we shall be under no obligation to inform you if such substitution takes place.
You agree that where a substitution of the type set out in this section is made in respect of a Gift you have selected, Harrods will have discharged its liability to you as though the List Holder(s) had received the Gift originally selected by you. You further acknowledge that the primary purpose of the contract between you and us is to provide the List Holder(s) with a gift of equivalent value to the amount paid by you for a Product selected by the List Holder(s) and subsequently substituted by nomination and/or agreement of the List Holder(s).
8. Harrods Rewards
8.1 If you are a Harrods Rewards loyalty scheme member, you may accumulate Harrods Rewards Points on your Rewards Card for all purchases from a Gift List in accordance with your Rewards tier.
8.2 Harrods Rewards Points and any Rewards current cash balance cannot be redeemed on the Website.

8.4 Rewards points will not be awarded for Charity Gifts.
9. The Website
9.1 We may change The Gift Bureau Website and correct or update information (including product information) on it or change these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice.
9.2 Except in relation to the description of products and services available for order from our Website, we do not guarantee and are not responsible for the accuracy of any information provided on the Website.
9.3 You may access and use the Website for your personal, non-commercial use. Provided you retain all copyright and proprietary notices, you may:
9.3.1 retrieve and display the content of the Website on a screen;
9.3.2 print copies of the content for your own personal use; and
9.3.3 store the content in electronic form (except that you may not store it on any server or other storage device connected to a network).
9.4 You may not use this Website or its contents:
9.4.1 for commercial purposes;
9.4.2 for resale purposes including the systematic extraction and/or re-utilisation of any part of the contents of this Website (eg. item listings, descriptions, prices);

10 Liability and Indemnity
10.1 We do not exclude or limit our liability or the liability of any other person for fraudulent misrepresentation or for death or personal injury resulting from our or their negligence. Except as set out above and in relation to our contractual obligations to supply goods and/or services following acceptance of orders placed on our Website in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, neither we nor any of our agents, affiliates, directors, employees or other representatives will be liable in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise for any loss or damage whatsoever in any way connected with your use or misuse of the Website, The Gift Bureau or customer services. We shall not be liable for any indirect, or consequential loss of whatever nature, including damage to software or hardware, loss of data, damage for loss of business, loss of profits, or any other indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the Website, The Gift Bureau or customer services (including without limitation, any such loss arising out of or in connection with any order placed on the Website, whether or not accepted by us).
10.2 You agree to indemnify us and our agents and officers, directors and employees, immediately on demand, against all claims, liability, damages, costs and expenses, including legal fees, arising out of any breach of these Terms and Conditions by you.
10.3 We may terminate your use of the Website immediately if we consider that you have breached these Terms and Conditions.

11.2 To fulfil our obligations to you under these Terms and Conditions, we communicate with you by email and by posting notices on the Website. You agree to receive communications from us electronically in this way and that electronic communications will satisfy any legal requirement for communications to be in writing.
The Website and telephone orders are controlled and operated in the UK. These Terms and Conditions and all matters connected with any order you place on our Website or over the telephone are governed by English law and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to all matters connected with or arising out of the Website or your use of customer services or any order you place on the Website or over the telephone.
13.1 We may change these Terms and Conditions at any time. If any of these terms and conditions are invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of these terms and conditions shall continue to have full force and effect.
13.2 We will not be responsible to you for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these Terms and Conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause beyond our reasonable control.
13.3 If you breach these Terms and Conditions and we take no action, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in other situations where you are in breach.
